Fur Is Cruel

Fur is gross, weird, inhumane, and unnecessary. Whenever I do a fur protest in the winter and I am freezing my ass off, I just think about the horror that the animals experience when they are trapped and killed for their fur. It always keeps me motivated to stay out there.

I was surprised when I heard that Kohl’s carries fur products. They didn’t strike me as the type of company that would fund cruelty. They have been informed of the cruelty that goes along with fur products.

The anti-fur campaign is one of the battles that are being won by animal rights activists. Companies and people are pledging everyday to ditch fur products.

Join me in putting an end to animals being suffocated, electrocuted, gassed, poisoned, skinned alive, bludgeoned, and tortured for their fur. Speak up for foxes, coyotes, rabbits, dogs, and cats.

Disgusting Lobster Machine

The lobster zone machine is one of the most disgusting/disturbing “games” I have ever heard of. It is a claw style game where you put in money then try to grab a live lobster with a metal claw to be sent to death. The most heart breaking thing is how the lobsters react when the music starts. They panic and try to run.

Please join me in trying to get these things taken out of restaurants. We are having success. Many bars and restaurants are removing them after enough pressure.

Here is a link to the company that makes the machine.
http://www.thelobsterzone.com/contact-us

This is what I wrote. Feel free to copy and paste.

"The machine that you are selling is very disturbing. You are encouraging people to torture lobsters before they are boiled alive, killed, and eaten. How anyone could think this is OK is beyond me. I will be boycotting any and every facility that has this torture machine and telling the owners and management that the reason is because of your horrible machine. I will also be protesting these establishments. "

I also sent a letter to 59 West in Highland, Michigan who has one of these machines. Here is the link to contact them.
Here is what I wrote. Again, feel free to copy and paste.
"It is unbelievable that your establishment has a machine where people can pick lobsters up with a metal claw to send them to their death. It is inhumane, weird, barbaric, and disgusting. There is no reason to make their inevitable death a game. It is torture for the lobsters. Please remove this machine. I will be boycotting your establishment and encouraging others to do the same as long as it remains there. "

I also wrote a letter to PETA with the restaurants info so hopefully their members will send letters.

Be Comfortable In Your Own Skin

Schwiezer Fernsehen is a Swiss TV station that recently aired footage of snakes, crocodiles, and alligators being beaten to death with hammers.

The exotic-skins trade is gross, cruel, and unnecessary. Jimmy Choo, a designer, knows about the suffering these animals endure and he still uses the skins in his works.

PROPS to STELLA McCARTNEY, MARC BOWER, NIKE, COLE HAAN, H&M, and VICTORIA’S SECRET for choosing NOT to support this cruel trade.

Click on this link to send a message to Jimmy Choo.

Frogs Need YOU

Coach House Gifts (CHG) is selling frogs in tiny plastic boxes. Frogs are meant to be in ponds. Leave them in their natural habitat. Why would you want a frog anyway? The capturing, shipping, maintaining, and selling method for this is cruel and unusual.

Last month in Sierra Vista Mall in California, 37 of 40 frogs died when a shipment hiccup left the frogs to die in hot boxes. Wild Creations is the company who ships these frogs and it is reported that they ships up to 100 “replacement” frogs EVERY day for the frogs that don’t make it. The frogs have been known to eat each other due to starvation.

Please join PETA in asking CHG CEO Craig Walker to ban the sale of these cruel products. A simple click on the link and everything is already filled out. Just click again and help these frogs.

Tough To Read

I know that it can be difficult to read about and hard to imagine, but if you don’t do something to help these animals, nobody will. They need our voice.

Professional Laboratory and Research Services (PLRS) was the subject of a 9 month undercover investigation by PETA. The company, based in North Carolina, tests products for veterinary medicine for Bayer, Eli Lilly, Pfizer, Novartis, Schering-Plough and Merial.

What they found was disturbing. Force-feeding cats and dogs, smearing harmful chemicals on their skin, burning, forced to sit in piss and feces, sprayed with bleach, kicking, throwing, screaming, seizures, bleeding, and finally death.

Please help them by clicking on the link and lending your voice.

Help End Animal Testing

Let’s put an end to animal testing. The Toxic Chemicals Safety Act, H.R. 5830 can help. Scientists have developed non-animal methods that are better.

Send a polite email to your Congressional representative and let them know where you stand. Copy and paste this link into your browser.

HAMSTERS

A modern, non-animal method for testing for leptospirosis vaccines that has been approved by the U.S. government exists but the Colorado Serum Co. (CSC) is still using hamsters. It’s unnecessary.

They inject them with the live bacteria and do not give them any pain relief as they suffer with blood poisoning, kidney damage, and other painful conditions before death.

Send the CSC a message. Save these hamsters from this cruelty. Copy and paste this link in your browser.

PROPS TO THE PARLIAMENT OF CATALONIA

On July 28th, the Parliament of Catalonia passed a vote to ban bullfighting. Catalonia is in the north-eastern part of Spain where as you know bull fighting is prominent. Catalonia is the first region on the Spanish mainland to do this. Much props to them for being leaders and outlawing the gruesome and cruel tradition.
Bullfighting is not a sport. It’s a barbaric activity that involves men taking turns tormenting and stabbing them until the animals spinal cord gets severed at the end. They do this to over 10,000 bulls a year-for entertainment.
Now let’s urge Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, the Prime Minister of Spain, to do the same. Here is a link to email him and urge him to join Catalonia in this progressive and kind decision. The email is filled out, just sign and hit send.

Pamela Anderson

Pamela Anderson is always doing great things to create awareness about animal suffering. She is always doing her part to promote going vegetarian. I salute her.
